Interview: Anthrox.com Concluded

Well, here it is, the rest of the interview, enjoy! And keep in mind this was written last month...

10. On the average day, how does the Dreamcast unit and game orderscompare to the other systems?

I can not really answer this since 99% of our business is wholesale. I would have to ask some of the retailers we deal with.

11. What are the top 3 ordered Dreamcast games?

1.sonic
2.virtua fighter 3tb
3.house of the dead 2

other stable selling games: sega rally 2, blue stinger, powerstone, marvel vs capcom, street fighter

12. How important is customer service to you (I know this is not a DC specific question but I have had excellent service from them and would like to know their take on how important the consumer is)?

I think this is very important. This is as important as being honest. Some people sometimes say a package had been shipped or they have certain item in stock. Later when they find out that the item is not in stock, the tend to send out a wrong item or that the package was sent but returned due to an error in address. I prefer to just say that an item is not in stock or that we were unable to send it. I try my best to do what I can and sometimes get very upset when the others in our team dont do things right. Overall I think customer service & honesty are what makes a business last.

13. What is the most asked about Dreamcast game?
At the moment, soul calibur. Next week, I expect Shenmue

14. Is their profit in importing huge masses of quantites in something such as the Dreamcast units and games and selling them at such low prices (ex. Virtua fighter 3tb and Sonic are $25 each, cheapest anywhere)? It would seem that is a great risk since there might have been a lukewarm reception for the system or system(s) coming out.
The profit comes in selling large quantity wholesale. Importing ourselves is one thing that helps keep our price low. Volume of sales is what keeps our orders in reasonable volume to justify importing ourselves. For the $25 game pricing, it has to do with SEGA offering special pricing for the top selling titles. The games sell because of the price so there is really no risk as long as I dont order more than what we can move. Restocks are also calculated/estimated to reduce overstock. Being small & fast is what keeps us from losing much money.
