June Wedding Keepsake

2. Trace two more hearts, slightly larger than the dimensions of the lid, so that the heart shape will drape over the side (both inside and outside of the lid), and cover the entire lid.

3. Cut your wrapping paper to fit the box. Apply the clear acrylic sealer using the sponge-tipped paintbrush to the inside and outside of the lid, and carefully cover with the paper, smoothing out any wrinkles with your fingers.

4. Next, apply acrylic sealer to the inside and outside of the bottom of the box. Cover with the wrapping paper, smoothing out wrinkles and adjusting it to fit into the corners and seams as you go along. Work quickly with the paper, as the sealer will dry rapidly and the paper will stick.

5. Once all the paper is in place and you’re sure all the cardboard (inside and out) has been covered, apply clear acrylic sealer over the entire surface of the paper to protect it and help it to endure the test of time gracefully. Initially this may produce a dull finish on the paper. But do not be concerned, this is only temporary. The sealer will dry clear. Wait until the paper is dry to the touch to begin working again (about 30 minutes).

6. Adorn the sides of the lid and the bottom part with ribbon. First, draw a thin line of tacky glue along the sides of the bottom of the box, somewhere in the middle. Attach the thin silver ribbon here.

7. Along the bottom and top of this portion of the box, attach the delicate white lace ribbon using tacky glue. Follow the same procedure with the white lace on the inside, to line the box and cover any seams from the paper. Set aside to dry while you work on the lid.

8. If you purchased 1/2 wide white ribbon, it should fit nicely over the entire side of the lid. Glue the ribbon to the outside of the lid, and then the inside to give the box a “finished” look.

9. Using the photograph of the happy couple (I chose one of my brother and his wife on their wedding day, since this was an anniversary gift) cut a one and a half-inch wide circle using scissors or a scrapbook tool. Glue the photo approximately a quarter inch below the point at the top of the heart, where its two halves meet.

10. Encircle the photo
