Valentine Soap Display
2. Once your soaps are finished (I made 4 rose colored hearts, 4 garnet colored hearts, 2 rose colored stars and 3 garnet colored lips for my project), it’s time to decorate your display case. Begin by gluing the 3-inch wooden heart to the top of the case lid. Set aside to dry. 3. Then glue the 1-inch hearts in random spots all over the sides of the case. Be sure to do this carefully if you use tacky glue. It will set up pretty fast, but you need glue the hearts on the top portion of the side of your case, and turn it slightly to add more, allowing those to set before you turn it again. By doing this, you’ll avoid having your hearts slide down the side of the display case before the glue dries. If you don’t have the patience to turn the case and wait, you can use a mini-glue gun, which will attach the hearts in seconds. 4. Using the wire edged ribbon; encircle the case at the bottom, for a “trim” effect, and glue the ribbon so it will stay in place. 5. Encircle the case near the top with ribbon, and tie a pretty bow (wire edged ribbon makes this so much easier). First divide the remaining ribbon in half and cut it. Then place one half of the ribbon around the top edge, and tied one bow. Slip the other half of the ribbon underneath the knot in the first bow, and tie another bow over the top of this one with this second piece. Adjust all four loops until each one is symmetrical, and cut the ties evenly as they drape downward. Rearrange the knot so that it appears full in front and doesn’t simply look like two bows tied on top of one another. Plump up your loops and adjust the ribbon until you are satisfied with the effect. Place a drop of glue in the back underneath the ribbon, and in front, underneath the bow’s knot, just to be sure it wouldn’t slide down the case. 6. Fill your case with about three to four inches of paper shred. I found that using white paper shred served as a nice contrast to the mauve and garnet colored soaps, but you can use red paper shred if you want a more dramatic effect. 7. Place your soaps inside, nestle them within the paper shred,
