Fabulous Fiji
Fiji is known for its incredible beauty and diversity, above and below the sea. Whether you're talking about accommodations, scenery, land-based activities, or diving, there's an island in Fiji that can meet every need. Some of Fiji's popular resorts and dive spots: Beqa Lagoon is the center of an extinct volcano. Soft corals rival those found in the northern region and the reefs are amazing. Beqa Divers and Marlin Bay Resort serve this popular area just an hour south of Pacific Harbour on Viti Levu, between Nadi and Suva. Mamanuca Group in the western region includes the 300-acre Mana Island with 160 beachfront and garden bures (bungalows) to fit any budget, complete with a water sports facility. Beachcomber Island Resort consumes its tiny island with a variety of bures, water sports, and even a miniature golf course. Dive Gotham City with the resident batfish for a world-class shark dive. Taveuni, garden isle of the Fiji group, is the site of one of the world's most remarkable and least exploited venues for divers. The rainforested island remains largely as it has for centuries, with several moderately priced small hotels including Garden Island Resort, and the private hillside bures at friendly Dive Taveuni. Visit sites along Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall, a deep dive with swim-throughs to a sheer drop off covered entirely by white soft corals. Nadi on the west coast of Viti Levu is the location of the International Airport. Many large resorts are in and around Nadi, including Fiji Sheraton, Regent of Fiji, and Mocambo. All amenities including diving are available at these beachfront resorts. Moderately priced hotels and even campgrounds are available near Nadi and Suva.
