Book a dive package with accommodations to suit your budget and enjoy the scenery and lively town of Lahaina. A special treat during the winter months is hearing the migrating humpback whale songs underwater along the Maui coastline. Some of the best diving is offshore at Molokini Crater. The tip of a small extinct volcanic crater rises out of the sparkling Pacific, a 50 minute boat ride from the lee shore of Maui. Snorkeling and diving are terrific at Molokini with depths ranging from 10-90 feet. A drop-off plummets to more than 200 feet opposite the lighthouse. Prepare to be surrounded by schools of friendly fish that are accustomed to being fed. Morning is the best time to dive here, with fewer boats and more likely calmer winds.Black Rock offers the most convenient and easiest diving on Maui at Kaanapali beach in front of the Sheraton Hotel. There is a volcanic rock point that juts out several hundred feet from shore providing a protected cove that is excellent for snorkeling and shallow scuba. Depths of 20-30 feet here find schooling damselfish, trumpetfish, parrotfish and sergeant majors. Lahaina is an easy, fun dive that is good for all skill levels in 20-50 feet. A boat dive, this site features abundant coral growth and fish life. Brain coral, finger corals, and elkhorn corals reach for the sunlight in the clear water.
