Here are more holiday drink recipes for you to try in your own kitchen. Many of these I just have in my files, others I came across on the net. I have found all of these not to be too terribly difficult. The fun thing about drink recipes, is that you can easily change to fit your own style. That's the fun part about experimenting, especially with drink recipes.
Here is my very own hot buttered rum recipe. My Nana made this years ago. I have seen so many renditions of it on the net, it's not even funny. Engel Family Hot buttered Rum Mix
1 pound light brown sugar Directions To mix drink: In a coffee mug, add 2 tablespoons Hot Buttered Rum Batter to 1 ounce rum, then fill cup with boiling water. Stir, and sprinkle top of drink with dash of nutmeg. Eggnog for Grownups This eggnog has alcohol in it. So it's really not for kids. 6 jumbo eggs, separated 1/4 tsp. salt 2/3 cup granulated sugar 2 1/2 cups heavy cream 1 cup whole milk 1 cup Bacardi 151 rum 1/2 cup cognac or brandy. 1 1/4 cup regular whipping cream Freshly grated nutmeg Beat egg whites and salt until frothy. Then slowly beat in 1/3 cup sugar. Continue to beat until stiff peaks will form. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks until light. Gradually beat in remaining sugar until thick. Beating constantly, slowly add table cream, milk, rum and cognac. In a separate bowl, beat whipping cream until soft peaks will form. Fold into egg-yolk mixture, along with beaten egg whites. Refrigerate until cold. Serve, sprinkled with nutmeg, in a punch bowl. Makes 18 servings. Don't ask me how much fat this recipe contains, I just know it's a lot.
