This labor day -- do something different, whethere it be going on a picnic -- having a bbq, or just staying home -- but do it with a bit of flair!
Whether your long weekend will be spent catching rays at the beach, checking out a state fair, or having a lazy day fishing! The thing to remember is that Labor Day is best when celebrated outside! Typically Labor Day we cart the family to the great outdoors, and while this may be the perfect opportunity to enjoy the summer before it ends, often more than not it doesn't make meal planning any easier. Not only do you need to take precautions against the chance of a sun burn, but you'll also need to prepare and realize that you can't just walk into the next room to your kitchen and cook, in fact your kitchen may be miles away.Here are a few recipes that have come my way that I would love to share, to help you make your day easier. Come on, who really wants to "labor" on labor day? Fried Chicken For the chicken Make chicken: Preheat oven to 400°F. Put the butter in the baking dish and heat it in the oven until the butter melts. Mix flour and seasonings together in paper sack or plastic baggie (1-gallon size). Shake each piece of chicken in seasoned flour. Place chicken pieces, skin-side down, in baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn chicken over and bake an additional 20 minutes or until cooked through and crispy. Remove chicken and set aside in a warm place.
