,Labor Day is an American Holiday that is always observed on the first Monday in September. It’s the last Summer holiday before Fall begins. Many people have a labor day barbeque, or party as the last bash of the summer, before the weather turns cool.

This holiday is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country.

Each year we as a family try to get together, to share food, fun, and relax together before the school year starts. This is maybe what you’d see on our picnic table.

Barbecue Pork Ribs
Most people that I share this with, first raise an eyebrow when they find out what I soak these babies in. The Coca Cola, and Soy Sauce break down the enzymes and give the ribs a tender texture, that melts in your mouth.

First Marinade:

The night before I soak about 6-8 pounds of boneless ribs in 2 liters of Coca Cola, Soy Sauce and water. I place the ribs in a large stock pot, that you would cook spaghetti in. I then pour in a 2 liter bottler of Coca Cola, 1 cup of Soy Sauce, and then fill the rest of pot with water just enough to cover the top of the ribs.
Second Marinade
· 1 1/2 cup finely diced yellow onion · 1 cup dark molasses · 1 cup honey · 2 cups catsup · 12 cloves garlic, minced · 6 tablespoons spicy jerk sauce · 6 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard · 6-8 pounds country-style pork ribs Combine marinade ingredients, mix well, and pour over ribs. Marinate for 4-6 hours. (I start mine in the morning early) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover ribs and cook for 30-45 minutes. Then take outside and finish these ribs on the grill. Finger lickin good, I promise!

Serves about 8, you can gauge between ½ pound to ¾ pound of ribs per person.
