Alchera Suite 3.5: Dream Software

I've been having email interaction with Harry Bosma of Mythwell.com and Healing Dreams for a while now, and an interview is in the works. Many of you may have participated in his recent dream survey. However, in the meantime I downloaded the demo copy of his dream software, Alchera Suite 3.5 to test it out. You can download the evaluation copy for free, and here's what you get after the download time which took me about 3.5 minutes.

Three icons will be installed on your desktop:

1. A yellow butterfly - this is the Alchera Suite 3.5 demo with an eight dream capacity that offers many ways to efficiently categorize and label your dreams for future analysis such as,

Searchable database of dream symbols and a dream dictionary
Dream labels including characters, own emotions, witnessed emotions, objects, and social interactions that you can attach to your dreams for future reference and quantitiative analysis
Hyperlinks that appear in the body of your dream text to take you to relevant areas of the dictionary
Analysis cues for general impressions, current concerns, and conclusions
Ability to choose lucidity level and incubation or psychic aspects of the dream
Four dream page areas: dream, analysis, symbol and the journal which you can divide into chapters
Exercise suggestions for the dreamer such as role playing, Senoi tactics, location analysis, free association and a grand tour covering many aspects of the dreaming process

2. A blue book - this is the Manual which covers various aspects of the dreaming process and Alchera Suite 3.5. Within it's pages you'll find:

Dreaming: a section which covers the basics of dreaming such as recall, incubation, analysis and a section on getting lucid
Lucille: a tool for stumlating lucid dream activity
Alchera explanations about upgrades, how to email your dream, print, convert Word files, and other tips and suggestions for utilizing the software to it's fullest potential
Important information on how to backup your files
Explanations of the Hall scales and quantitiative analysis aspect of Alchera

3. A yellow dollar sign which is your option to purchase Alchera Suite 3.5 and register as a user for future upgrades:

You can purchase the download and CD for $42.50.

Overall, the software was incredibly to use, especially if you played the demos so you new exactly what to do. I found it a good way to link interconnected dreams, and the various tools for cataloguing and quantifying your dreams are awesome for anyone who rigorously keeps track of their dreams. It's a great way to find the patterns in your dreams and then see what those details tell you about yourself and your dreaming processes. Still, I love my good old ink and paper dream journals!
