Falling Leaves

There are so many things to learn about leaves. See if you can learn five things about leaves that aren't mentioned in this article. Then, collect some leaves, get some paint and make a leaf collage. Do this by holding a leaf tightly against art paper and painting over it. When you have finished lift it carefully off the paper. Presto! An outline of your leaf. Do this all over the paper, allowing your leaves to overlap. Use different colors. When your collage is complete allow it to dry thoroughly and then hang it in your room to add a splash of color. Have fun.

Author's Note:

There are lots of other activities you can do outside in the fall. Look for sumacs, bullrushes, pinecones and other things to take to school to add to the Science Corner. Ask your teacher what kind of things he/she would like you to bring in so your class can learn about them.
