The Blank Page.

The most incredible fantasies come to us in dreams, they have a reality with an amazing amount of detail, but when you wake up they are gone. You may remember small pieces but nothing like the detail you were a part of during the dream time. However science has proved that most people experience dreams as they wake from deep sleep, in a time of half sleep. The brain is active to the same degree during meditation. Now if a writer can use this method to free the mind the fantasy only needs to be recorded. The method is simple. Take a small tape recorder and anything else you might personally need to help you relax totally. You may enjoy soft background music and burning incense or scented candles, maybe laying in a warm bath. Everyone has their own way of freeing off the mind but the result will be the same. Relax and take yourself into your book, Where are you? What can you see? You may be one of your characters or you may be an invisible entity with the ability to be anywhere and see everything, listening to what people are saying. Your work has now become a film in your head and all you have to do is say what you see and the recorder will save the information. You can describe the alien world you have entered in fine detail, the spaceship you may be on, listen to the noises and describe them. What are your characters saying? Thinking? How are they reacting to any given scenario? If you are the character what are you feeling? Say everything as it comes into your head softly and exactly. You may want to imagine you are reading your book out loud, say what you see. Whichever way you may choose the result will be the same. You will have a recording of inspiration that only needs playing back and writing. Details you may not have found when faced with a blank page will only need to be filled out or the grammar corrected. Fantasies and impossible scenarios have to be released and the normal world we live in is the prison for the imagination. Only by removing the bars and freeing the mind from reality will the real illusion be able to exist, your mind has to be allowed to be free of all restraints. Reality is the prison and fantasy the prisoner, you are the key. This brings a whole new concept to the saying, "speak your mind".
