What ever your life style, occupation or status you will always be who you are. From a politician to a priest, rich or poor, business orientated to creative you are what ever you have the ability to be. The limitations of the human body are infinite and new limits are found every day. Now look into the question, are you the majority or the minority?
The Reader. The reader looks for a book, which follows his or her desired interest so a good Science Fiction novel is going to be readable by everyone. It can incorporate action, the future, the past, wild imagination, sex, drugs and rock and roll. The reader is looking for an escape from life with the stimulation of the written word not the moving picture screen which has its limitations, after all when did you last take a chill pill laying on a sun bed on a Caribbean beach with a TV? The reader has a compact entertainment center in their hands with a book written in a theme (Science Fiction) which they find enjoyable that they bought with the only intention of reading to take them into their fantasy and away from the reality of their life scenario. The written word in its book form with its powerful and descriptive ability to stimulate the imagination to create personal images stronger than any film producers representation on the big screen takes the reader any time, any place, anywhere into their fantasy. The Writer. The writer suffers all the frustrations of the reader and more in their every day life. For them the luxury of a sun bed in the Caribbean lazing away the day reading is a dream. For them buying a book is not an option because the book is already written, read and formatted in their head. It is only the time required with the limitations of life that holds them back from the frustrations of the publishing world and hopefully world wide recognition as an author. The writer has to find commitment and dedication to push themselves to the limits of their desire to promote their imagination within the confines of life to produce a new concept or theme in a novel. Swinging in a hammock with a book is a luxury of the reader, sitting in front of a computer or word processor is the choice of the writer. Overcoming the block to take our readers to the far side of the galaxy both futuristic and retrospective, inventing new and colourful scenarios in the wonderful realms of Science Fiction takes dedication.
