The scientific community must be given recognition for their work and development that has produced the world we live in today but must also be criticized for their closed minded attitude which has retarded and restricted life. It seems that when someone considers himself or herself intelligent they close their minds to possibility. It is possibility that the Science Fiction writer uses so well as abstract development of the mind and looks to the future with the presumption that maybe their inventive theory could become a reality. Jules Verne and many other great creative writers saw the future and wrote about it while the scientific community who consider themselves the intelligent ones told everyone that the world is flat, man could never travel to the moon and nuclear weapons are a necessity.
