The Dead Zone News
"The Dead Zone," which premiered last weekend on USA Network, reportedly set a ratings record with a 4.7 household rating and 6.4 million viewers. "The Dead Zone" was USA Network's highest rated original dramatic series debut. X-Files News Congratulations go out to former "X-Files" star David Duchovny and wife actress Tea Leoni ("Jurassic Park III") on the birth of their second child, the couple's first child is 3-year-old daughter Madelaine West. The couple welcomed their son on June 15th. No other details have announced. Beastmaster News The "Beastmaster" has ended. The hit series, which stars Daniel Goddard as Dar and Jackson Raine as Tao, won't be making any more new episodes. However the shows three seasons will continue to be rerun next year. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel News According to a report on the Sci-Fi Wire, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar told them that she wasn't going to be voicing her character in the proposed animated series "Buffy: The Animated Series" and that she doesn't know who would be voicing the character. According to the Sci-Fi Wire, Charisma Carpenter will be returning to "Angel" for the shows fourth season. Series creator Joss Whedon apparently told the news site for the Sci-Fi Channel that the actress would definitely be returning. Carpenter's month long absence, which fell in the middle of last season, fueled rumours that she would be leaving the popular series. But, Whedon quashed those rumours in an interview during the Saturn Awards in LA on June 10th. Other Sci-Fi TV News Yancy Butler the star of "Witchblade" was back at work June 10th after taking a month off to seek treatment for an alcohol addiction. Production on the series was halted around a month ago and Bulter's absence fueled speculative rumours that the actress would be replaced in her role as NYPD Detective Sara Pezzini. Star Trek News The teaser trailer for the upcoming "Star Trek" feature film "Star Trek: Nemesis" will make it's debut at Starbase 21's Trek Expo in Tulsa Oklahoma, June 22nd. "Star Trek: Nemesis" opens in theaters on December 13th. There's a new type of convention in town. The Virtual Convention. Vir-Con 2002 is the first ever virtual "Star Trek" convention. The convention is set for August 2-4 in Cyberspace and will run in conjunction with Creation Entertainment's live event in Los Vegas. Vir-Con 2002 is comes to "Star Trek" fans via a partnership between W. Vito Montone's company, virtual-conventions, llc, and Viacom Consumer Products.
