According to the official "Star Trek"site, "Star Trek" fans have a new way to access the Internet. It was announced recently that a new Internet service, which is powered by EarthLink, has been launched especially for "Star Trek" fans. "Star Trek.net" features the traditional EarthLink Internet access "Star Trek" style along with some great 'exclusive' content. The 'exclusive' content includes video interviews and documentaries. Plus other cool things like desktop customization options and more. For more info on this new service check out the official "Star Trek"site. The official "Star Trek" convention is coming up soon in Seattle Wa. The convention is set for February 22-24, 2002. Guests for the convention include "Star Trek: The Original Series" stars Nichelle "Uhura" Nichols, Leonard "Spock" Nimoy and William "Kirk" Shatner, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" stars Chase "Leeta" Masterson, Aron "Nog" Eisenberg, Nana "Col. Kira" Visitor and Max "Rom" Grodenchik. As well as "Star Trek: The Next Generation" star Gates "Dr. Crusher" McFadden among others. According to the Sci-Fi Wire, two of the writers from "Enterprise" have left the show. Citing a report on the TrekToday.com website, the Sci-Fi Channel's news site reported that writer/producers Antoinette Stella (who wrote "Terra Nova") and Tim Finch (who wrote "Cold Front") have left the newest "Star Trek" series. The change of writers is nothing new however, almost all of the other shows have had changes in their writing staff at one time or another. The official "Star Trek"site has an interview with Stephen Collins, best know to "Star Trek" fans as Commander William Decker from the first "Star Trek" feature film, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." The official "Star Trek"site has reported that the actress who portrayed "The Keeper," the "throbbing-headed" Talosian, in the 'first' pilot episode of "Star Trek: The Original Series" entitled "The Cage," Meg Wyllie, passed away January 1st at the age of 84. "The Cage" starred the late Jeffery Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike, Kirk's predecessor, and was filmed in December of 1964 but never aired until it became part of the two part episode "The Menagerie." Her career spanned some 50 years and she starred or guest starred in many shows including "The Twilight Zone," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "Mister Ed," "The Addams Family," "The Fugitive," and "Batman" among other television series. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" star LeVar Burton, who played Geordie LaForge, is set to direct the independent CGI/Live Action feature film "Blizzard." "Blizzard" tells the story of one of Santa's reindeers, whose name is "Blizzard," who becomes friends with a young girl. Go To Page: 1 2
