X-Files News

The ninth season marks the end of the "X-Files." Word came down from FOX last week that the popular series will come to a close some time in May. No definite airdate as of yet. The two-hour finale will mark the 200-01 episodes of the hit series.

The decision to end the series was made on January 16th after a meeting between Carter and FOX Entertainment Television Group executives, in which Carter reportedly stated to FOX Entertainment Television Group Chairman Sandy Grushow and entertainment president Gail Berman that he was "ready to end the show."

According to the New York Post, Chris Carter, the creator of the "X-Files" told them that there is a possibility that former "X-Files" star David Duchovny (who portrayed Special Agent Fox Mulder) may return for the series finale in May.

The plans are not definite yet, but Carter told the NY Post that Duchovny, who had previously stated that he wouldn't be returning to the series, was "open" to returning.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer News

Lots of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" news this week. According to a report on the Sci-Fi wire, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" executive producer Marti Noxon told them that an animated version of the hit TV series may possibly be "stalled."

According to the article, which quotes an interview with Noxon at the UPN winter Press tour in Pasadena, Noxon says that the animated spin-off is "still in the works" but hinted that there had been some problem with FOX Family Television. Fans shouldn't despair though, scripts have been written for the animated series, the question is "where will the series be airing?"

David Boreanaz, who plays Angel on "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has reportedly said that he wouldn't be doing the voice of Angel for the new animated series. According to the Sci-Fi wire, Boreanaz says that he's been "tied up" with work so he doesn't believe that his voicing the animated Angel will be happening.

According to TV Guide Online, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" creator, Joss Whedon, will be helming the February 4th episode of "Angel." The episode marks the first time he has taken the reigns for the spin-off series since it's debut in 1999.

Roswell News

According to the Sci-Fi Wire, Jason Katims, executive producer of the series, reportedly told the site that seven more episodes of the popular 'teen-alien' Sci-Fi series "Roswell" have been "picked up" by UPN. This brings the total number of episodes for this season to a full complement of twenty episodes.
