Sci-Fi TV and UFOs...Is the Truth out there?

Are the bright lights really UFOs or experimental aircrafts? Is the truth really out there...that there really is life out there in the depths of outer space?

The answers to those questions have been a mystery for centuries. But for more than fifty years the "need" for the mystery, the possibility of "UFOs or Aliens," to be solved has dominated some areas of the scientific community. Indeed the search for "UFOs" and "aliens" has spawned many questions without answers, conspiracy theories and stories of "alien abductions."

While some scientists have mainly searched for the proof that we are not alone by trying to "understand" the universe around us and learning more about the stars and planets that make up our universe, "UFO believers" and so called "abductees" have looked for the "truth" about "Extra Terrestrials" and to prove that they aren't as "crazy" as some would think.

The search for other life is represented most in our daily lives by our favourite Sci-Fi TV show. From the "Star Trek" saga, "War of the Worlds," "Roswell," and "First Wave" to "Babylon 5," "Quantum Leap" and the "X-Files" humanity's never ending search for the "truth" comes alive through the imaginations of the creators and writers of those shows. Which leads us to the question "Is it really Sci-Fi TV or is it a glimpse into our future?"

For some believers, the "X-Files" and "Roswell" might be closer to the "truth" than you might think. But is there really a hint of truth behind the creative storylines of "alien abductions," "psychic powers," "government conspiracies," and "little green (or grey) men"?

The closest answers would be in the story of the alleged 1947 "Roswell 'UFO' crash conspiracy." According to the 'official' reports published in newspapers and on a variety of websites the "flying saucer" was an experimental military aircraft that malfunctioned, which crashed to the ground and was later recovered by the military. "UFO believers" on the other hand believe that it was the first of many "UFO" sightings that have been "covered up" by government departments.

However, through out history there are legendary tales told about "fairies," "leprechauns," "ghosts," "banshees," "werewolves" and "vampires" that are still told today, albeit somewhat distorted by time and retelling. They, along with the mysteries of Stonehenge, may be the oldest recollections of "UFOs/aliens" visiting. Then again, they may be figments of the imagination and have some logical explanation.

It all depends on your point of view. Everything boils down to two sides "yes or no," "good or bad" or "believer or non-believer."
