Buffy the Vampire Slayer News

According to the GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) website, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has been nominated for a GLAAD Award in the category of "outstanding drama series". The nomination comes as GLAAD prepares to dole out their 13th Annual Media awards in April of next year. Also up for GLAAD awards are several "Sci-Fi" comic books including the Dark Horse "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" comic book, DC Comics' "Green Lantern", Abstract Studio's "Strangers in Paradise" and others.

The BBC's official "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" site has an interesting interview with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" writer Steven DeKinght. In the interview, DeKnight discusses the possible new "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" animated series of which they have about five scripts written already.

Babylon 5 News

According to the Sci-Fi Wire, "Babylon 5" creator J. Michael Straczynski told them that his new series "Jeremiah," which will be shown on Showtime, may start in March or June of next year. The new series, which stars former "Beverly Hills 90210" star Luke Perry and former "Cosby" star Malcolm-Jamal Warner, will begin with a two hour movie.

Straczynski told Sci-Fi Wire that he will write only about half of the series' 20 some episodes as apposed to his writing a good portion of the episodes that aired from his hit series "Babylon 5".

In another interview with Sci-Fi Wire, Straczynski discussed the new "Babylon 5" DVD edition. The DVD features the first two "Babylon 5" feature length tele-films "The Gathering" and "In the Beginning." Of his involvement in choosing which films to launch first Straczynski reportedly "only approved the cover art" the rest of the decision was handled by Warner Home Video.

Star Trek News

The official "Star Trek" website has a great new feature. A "virtual tour" of the Enterprise NX-01. You can explore the Bridge of the ship, the Captain's Ready Room, the Sickbay and many more places. To take the "virtual tour" check out the "Star Trek" website.

According to the official "Star Trek" site, the "Star Trek" prop auction was a huge success raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. The winning bid for a prop phaser used in the film "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" was $50,000, the winning bids for a "ST: TOS" tricorder and a "Star Trek: First Contact" phaser rifle were $45,000 (each).

Other winning bids included $42, 500 for a scale model of the "Star Trek: The Original Series" Enterprise, $37,000 for a "ST: TOS" communicator and $11,000 for the leather outfit worn by Walter Koenig (who played Chekov) in the film "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" $11,00. There were many more items available in the auction, all of which surpassed their expected values.
