Sci-Fi Channel News

It looks like there's going to be a new mini-series airing in the fall of 2002. The upcoming 20-hour miniseries is being produced by the Sci-Fi Channel, Dreamworks Television and Steven Spielberg and was written by Leslie Bohem.

The mini-series is entitled "Taken" and will star Steve Burton (best known as Jason Morgan on the Daytime drama "General Hospital") as Randall Keys, Julie Benz (best known as Darla on "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") as Kate Keys and Joel Gretsch (best known for his role in "The Legend of Bagger Vance) as the ambitious and callous Army officer Owen Jones.

The ten part epic miniseries, will tell the story of three families and their experiences in dealing with alien abductions as well as the truth behind them. It sounds like an interesting mini-series, watch for it in the fall of next year. For more info check out Sci-Fi.com

Babylon 5 News

According to a report on the Sci-Fi Wire site, four satirical "Babylon 5" cartoons are up for auction. The cartoons were by cartoonist Tye Bourdony and have been autographed by "Babylon 5" cast members. The auction is a part of "Babylon 5" cast member Patricia Tallman's, who played Lyta Alexander, annual Christmas event to help raise money for Penny Lane, a non-profit organization that helps to provide services to needy kids. The Zocalo Today site, Global List Auctions and the Lighter Side of Sci-Fi site are sponsoring the auction.

According to the Sci-Fi Channel's site the new "Babylon 5" TV movie, "Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers," will be airing on the Sci-Fi Channel on January 19th, 2002.

Dune Mini-series News

The upcoming "Dune" mini-series entitled "Children of Dune" is set to begin production in April of next year in Prague. The mini-series is an adaptation of the next two novels in the Frank Herbert "Dune" series (six novels all together), "Dune Messiah" and "Children of Dune".

X-Files News

Once again Gillian Anderson is reportedly leaving the "X-Files" at the end of this season when her contract is up. The actress reportedly stated to TV Guide Online that "Yes" she is leaving the series at the end of the season and that she would reprise her role in any "X-Files" movie that came up.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch News

"I Dream of Jeannie" star Barbara Eden will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of the series. Eden will reportedly be playing Sabrina's (portrayed by Melissa Joan Hart) great aunt Irma. The episode will air on January 11th.
