Here's the latest news from the world of Sci-Fi TV. In this article I bring you news of the cancellation of a popular series, some good news ratings wise and some interesting news. The world of Sci-Fi TV is bursting with news this week!

Invisible Man News

According to the Sci-Fi Wire, the Sci-Fi Channel's series "The Invisible Man" will be airing the final episode of the popular series sometime during the early part of next year. Thus marking the end of the series, which has been airing on the Sci-Fi Channel for two years. The article on the Sci-Fi wire website quoted a spokesperson for the Sci-Fi Channel as the source of the information. The network will be airing reruns of the series through to the end of this year and new episodes will start airing in January.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer News

According to UPN, the musical episode of its popular series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" did well in the ratings when it first aired on November 6th. The episode, entitled "Once More With Feeling," ranked number 3 among the12-34 and (adult) 18-34 crowds.

The episode also ranked high in it's timeslot (8-9pm), it came in at Number 2, beating the NBC series "Three Sisters", the popular ABC series "Spin City" and the ever popular CBS series "Jag". It also beat out the WB's series "Gilmore Girls".

Star Trek News

Some props and memorabilia from the personal collections of the creators of "Star Trek: The Original Series" are going up for auction on eBay in December. The December 12th auction will reportedly feature the "only remaining" production model of the U.S.S. Enterprise (an estimated value of thirty to fifty thousand dollars) and Captain Kirk's yellow tunic (an estimated value of twelve to fifteen thousand).

Other items reported to be up for auction are the original "Star Trek" fanfare that was handwritten by Alexander Courage, Spock's bed, Spock's Tricorder, a complete set of scripts, models of starships, phasers and "blind dates" with some of the show's creators and actors including James Doohan, who portrayed Scotty.

The number of items totalled some 300 premium items. They come from the personal collections of art director Matt Jeffries, production executive Herbert Solow, writer Harlan Ellison and various others.

On Thanksgiving, TNN will be celebrating the holiday with a 14 hour marathon of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episodes. The event will be hosted by Patrick Stewart, the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" Captain, Jean-Luc Picard, and is called the "Star Gazing On "Star Trek: The Next Generation Marathon". All of the episodes that were selected for the marathon feature Hollywood stars that make cameo appearances.
