On Tuesday November 6th, a musical episode of the popular series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was aired. The episode, entitled "Once More With Feeling", was written and directed by series creator Joss Whedon and is a unique blend of a Broadway/Motion Picture musical and a rock opera. Filled to the brim with ballads and up beat songs that made you want to sing along.

In the episode, Buffy and company find themselves suddenly bursting into song and spontaneously dancing due to a spell that brought a demon 'Lord of the Dance' named Sweet into town. The gang wasn’t alone in their singing and dancing, however, the whole of Sunnydale are bursting into song no matter what they were doing. In one scene a man had come from picking up his dry cleaning and he started singing "They got the mustard out!" right in the middle of the street.

The entire cast have decent voices; yes the cast does do their own singing, especially Anthony Stewart Head (who plays Buffy's former watcher Giles) who has appeared on Broadway. There were several complicated and difficult duets and group songs including one by Giles and Tara (Amber Benson) entitled 'Under Your Spell/Wish I Could Stay' (reprise) and another by the whole cast entitled 'Walk Through the Fire.'

Some other tunes were ‘Life is a Show’, ‘Why Don’t We Dance a While’, ‘I’ve Got a Theory/What Can’t We Face’, ‘Going Through the Motions’, ‘RIP’, ‘Wish I Could Stay’ and ‘Where Do We Go From Here.’

I found the episode enjoyable; it was full mayhem and music as well as comedic moments. It's a must watch for all Buffy fans and non-Buffy fans alike.
