Sci-Fi TV News WatchDark Angel News Dark Angel is getting two new cast members. According to a report on Zapit.com, when the series returns to FOX on the 21st of next month, Jensen Ackles will be playing a character called Alec and Kevin Durand will be playing a character named Joshua. Both new characters will be linked, in some way, to the classified government research/training facility known as Manticore. Ackles previously appeared on the series as Ben, one of Max's genetically engineered siblings. While Durand appeared on the popular series Stargate SG-1. Star Trek News Rumours abound about the upcoming 10th Star Trek movie. TrekToday has posted on it's site that it says are "major spoilers" for the film, which has been said to contain some big changes for the crew of the Enterprise E. Some of the rumoured "spoilers" include a cameo by Voyager's Captain Janeway (played by Kate Mulgrew) who has been promoted to Admiral, a girlfriend for Geordie (played by LeVar Burton), the departure of Doctor Crusher (played by Gates McFadden) for a post at Starfleet Medical (again), the wedding of Riker (played by Jonathon Frakes) and Troi (played by Marina Sirtis) and Riker finally accepting a command of his own, the USS Titan. X-Files News The X-Files is getting a new recurring character in the form of actor Carl Elwes. Elwes will be portraying an FBI Assistant Director named Brad Follmer. The actor is best know for his roles in the films "The Princess Bride" and Mel Brook's "Robin Hood: Men in Tights". Xena: Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless will be appearing in at least two episodes of the X-Files, namely the first two episodes of the season, which starts on November 4th. Although the details of Lawless' appearance are being kept under wraps Frank Spotnitz one of the show's executive producers, said that they had found, they thought, what would be an "interesting and unexpected" way to have her appear on the series. Buffy the Vampire Slayer News Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, told Cinescape Online that the next spin-off of Buffy, which will star Anthony Stewart Head, will be called "Ripper" and not the previously rumoured "The Watcher". Buffy star Alyson Hannigan, who portrays Willow, has a new movie out with Universal Pictures entitled "American Pie 2". In the sequel to the 1999 original of the same name, which was produced by brothers Chris and Paul Weitz, Hannigan reprises her role of Michelle.
