Toronto Trek Part Two - The Guests

On Saturday July 21st, I attended several of the actor's talks, including that of Xena and Hercules' Robert Trebor. Each of the actors whose talks I attended spoke with humour and charm.

Here's just a small piece of my recollection from two of the memorable talks.

Robert Trebor - The first talk I got to was Robert Trebor's and I found him to be a witty and charming man, who was extremely gracious to the fans. He has been an actor for about 27-28 years and went to the same acting school as Robin Williams and Jeffrey Coombs (best known as Weyoun on Star Trek: DS9).

At one point in the Q/A he was asked what he thought about the series finale of Xena. He responded by asking the fan the same question. The fan spoke of how disappointed he was.

Mr. Trebor said that he found the contrast between how he believes Rob Tapert felt about the ending and how the fans have reacted interesting. When he asks fans at conventions how they felt about the series ender, the fan reaction seems to range from those who taped the series but then read about the spoilers or reviews then refused to watch it because they felt that it might change how they thought of the show and those who felt betrayed by the way the show finished.

He then stated that he wasn't sure, personally, what to think of how Xena ended, but that he thought that Rob Tapert was satisfied with how the series ended. He suggested that if any of the fans should see Rob Tapert at a convention they should ask him that question. He also said Mr. Tapert would give an honest answer about how he felt about the series ender and would justify the ending to the fans if he thought that it worked out well.

Mr. Trebor told the audience that he has several projects on the go which are currently looking for funding, including one that he wrote called "My Bonny Lies Over The Ocean" and two TV series one of which is called "Tropical Storm" based on Melissa Good's Dar and Kerry novel of the same name, a very good series of stories. :) He also wrote a book where Salmoneus gives advice through out the ages and was going to record an album entitled "Salmoneus Sings Songs in the Key of Money".

Armin Shimerman - Another talk I attended was Armin Shimerman's. During his talk he recalled several stories about going from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Star Trek: DS9.
