Ain't It Cool News posted what they are calling "Extensive and Major" Buffy spoilers. Buffy's sixth season starts on UPN this fall.

In other Buffy news, it has been confirmed that the BBC will be making a Buffy spinoff that's centered around Giles, who is portrayed by Anthony Stewart Head, and is 'tentatively' entitled "The Watcher". The new series was reportedly being considered partly to "accomodate" Head, who wanted to be with his family in the UK.

Star Trek and Enterprise News

Scott Bakula, who will be portraying Captain Jonathan Archer in the new Star Trek series "Enterprise", spoke with ET Online recently about the new series. In the interview he said that he thinks that the new series will be "fun", not only for Star Trek fans but also for those who have never watched any of the Star Trek series.

Bakula also stated that the series takes place about 100 years before Kirk and company, which is about 150 years from today and around the time of the Star Trek movie "First Contact". He said that the series deals with mankind's first foray into the intergalactic universe.

Star Trek.com has a new Q & A with Jeffrey Combs, best known to Star Trek fans for his dual role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, portraying both the Ferengi Commerce Authority Liquidator Brunt and the Vorta clone Weyoun, to Babylon 5 fans as the telepath Harriman Gray and to horror fans as Herbert West, a.k.a. the "Re-Animator".

Patrick Stewart OBE, best know by Star Trek fans as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, was awarded an honorary fellowship by Cardiff University in Wales on Monday July 9th. Stewart recieved the honorary degree for his work with the university's School of Journalism, Media and Culture and his "ongoing" commitment to theatre, film and television.

Smallville News

Annette O'Toole, the actress who portrayed Lana Lang in Superman III in 1983, will be returning to the franchise as Clark Kent's mother, Martha, in the upcoming fall TV series entitled "Smallville" by the WB. According to the Hollywood Reporter, another actress had been slated to portray Martha Kent, but the role was recast to accommodate O'Toole.

X-Files News

Will she or won't she stay on after this upcoming season? Is the question being asked about the X-Files Gillian Anderson, who portrays FBI Agent Dana Scully. In another report, by Reuters news service, Anderson left her staying for a possible 10th season of the popular series open, should of course the series be renewed after this season. That report contradicts an earlier news story by the London Sunday Times that this season would be Anderson's last.
