Dune News

There is a new Dune miniseries coming from the Sci-Fi Channel, entitled "Children of Dune". The miniseries will take the second and third of Frank Herbert's Dune novels, "Children of Dune" and "Dune Messiah", and adapt them into one six hour miniseries.

The writer/director of the Sci-Fi Channel's first Dune miniseries, Josh Harrison, stated in an interview posted on the Sci-Fi Channel's Dune website that this miniseries will be about the fall of House Atreides. He also stated that, like the first miniseries, "Children of Dune" would be true to Herbert's original works.

The Sci-Fi Channel hopes to begin pre-production on the new miniseries sometime this summer.

Earth Final Conflict News

Earth Final Conflict fans have launched a letter writing campaign in protest of the cast and storyline changes that will occur on the series. According to the Sy Fy Portal, fans are sending Tribune Entertainment envelopes filled with 'blue glitter'.

The campaign was inspired by the imfamous "Tabasco campaign" by Roswell fans, which was successful in getting the popular series back for a second season a couple of years ago.

X-Files News

This coming season, the X-Files' ninth, will be the last for X-Files star Gillian Anderson, who plays FBI Agent Dana Scully. According to the London Sunday Times, the actress reportedly told them that she would like to spend more time with her six year old daughter, Piper. Anderson also reportedly told them that, after the show wraps next summer, she'd like to appear on stage in London's West End.

Star Trek News

The TrekWeb.Com has posted an image of what the site is calling the "Official" logo of the new Star Trek series, "Enterprise". The 'logo' reportedly resembles the patches that the Enterprise crew will wear on their shoulder.

Star Trek: Voyager's Tim 'Tuvok" Russ is sponsoring a six or seven week auction with his fan club through his Official site. The Summer Charity Auction will benefit a number of charities including: Zenith Youth Homes, Wildlife Waystation, El Modena Family Shelter and Holy Family Services.

Items up for auction include autographed photos, Activision games, books, autographed original scripts and more. Also up for bid are Tuvok's ears (autographed by Russ).

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Avery "Captain Sisko" Brooks, is lending his voice to a CD release of the 1992 Opera "Tania" by composer Anthony Davis. The Opera tells the story of the 1974 kidnapping and subsequent reprogramming of newspaper heiress Patty Hearst, the event that the Opera was based on.
