Sci-Fi TV NewsWolf Lake News The new CBS series hasn't even aired yet but already there have been changes made behind the scenes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show's producer has been fired and will be replaced by Alex Gansa (best known to Sci-Fi fans for his work with the X-Files). Apparently according to The Hollywood Reporter, sources have said that the network asked that changes be made in order to ensure that the plotline of the series had "sustainability". Also changed is the way Lou Diamond Phillips' character arrives in the town. Instead of arriving as a Federal Agent, the character now comes to town to find lost love. Charmed News It's been reported by Variety that Rose McGowan is in talks to replace Charmed's Shannen Doherty. The trade paper reported that the actress maybe close to joining the cast, which includes Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs, as a long lost sister. If the report's sources are correct, McGowan beat out Denise Richards (last seen in The World is not Enough) for the role. Doherty reportedly left the series due to disagreements with co-star Milano. Star Trek News Star Trek Voyager is under consideration for an Emmy. Although the series has won Emmys for Make-up and Special Effects, it has yet to win in a dramatic category. Star Trek: The Next Generation alumni Wil Wheaton (he portrayed Wesley Crusher) will be performing during the Second Annual Improvathon at Los Angeles Theatre Sports as a celebrity performer. The event, which takes place August 10th and 11th in North Hollywood, features 30 hours of improvisational comedy with a crew of rotating performers. For more on the event click here. Other Sci-Fi TV News According to Variety, Fireworks Entertainment and Goodman Rosen Productions have optioned both the film and television rights to a Nintendo 64 game entitled "Perfect Dark". The two companies, which produce a number of hit television series such as Andromeda, Relic Hunter, The Lost World and Highlander, could premiere a new series based on the game in the fall of next year.
