Sci-Fi News UpdateStar Trek News It's official...Scott Bakula, best known for his role on Quantum Leap, will be portraying the new Star Trek Captain, Jonathon Archer, in the new series Enterprise. Garry Hart, President of the Network Television Division of the Paramount Television Group, made the announcement in a press release last week. Other news on the newest Star Trek series reports that, according to TrekWeb.com, the Vulcan character T'Pau has been renamed T'Pol and will be portrayed by Jason and the Argonaunts' Jolene Blalock. Also joining the cast are Dominic Keatingm Anthony Montgomery, John Billingsley, Linda Park and Connor Trinneer The Sci-Fi.com website news wire reports that the uniforms for some members of the ship's crew are blue jumpsuits with starship patches emblazoned on the shoulders. The Voyager-esk jumpsuits are, reportedly, navy with a contrasting colour on the yoke and shoulder piping in colours which designate rank/ship function. The patches themselves will reportedly be a white on blue image of a starship which resembles Star Trek: TOS' Enterprise. The first episode of the new series, entitled "Broken Bow", will be directed by long-time Star Trek director James L. Conway and deals with, as has been rumoured, the Enterprise's first encounter with the Klingon race. A good portion of the production crew from the various Star Trek series have signed on for the new series including from the Art Department Denise Okuda and James Martin, and Set Decorator Jim Mees, who was part of the team which won an Emmy in 1990 for the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Sins of the Father". Reminder to Voyager fans: The two hour finale of Star Trek: Voyager airs next week. The episode is entitled "Endgame". Babylon 5 News The Canadian Sci-Fi Channel, Space: The Imagination Station, will reach the end of it airing rights for the popular Sci-Fi series in July. This is just for the five seasons of the series, it doesn't mean that the channel won't air any new telefilms or spin-off series. Other Sci-Fi TV News The new werewolf dramatic series entitled Wolf Lake, which stars Lou Diamond Phillips, is expected to be on CBS' fall schedule. The series revolves around investigators who look into strange activities happening around the werewolves.
