Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar has reportedly told the teen magazine Seventeen that she hasn't committed herself to the role of Daphne in the new Scooby-Doo movie, although she did say that Freddie Prinze Jr. has signed on.

Artisan Entertainment may be releasing the SCI-FI channel's remake of the Frank Herbert novel Dune to DVD as early as March 20th of next year. This is according to the DVD Review.com site, also according to the site the DVD may feature behind the scenes footage, interviews with the cast and crew and more.

According to the SFX Network Buffy the Vampire Slayer's creator, Joss Whedon, will be writing the introduction to the forthcoming collection of Warran Ellis' Planetary comic series.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Sliders' Kari Wuhrer will be playing the female lead in Arac Attack, a giant spider film that stars David Arquette. She will reportedly play the Sheriff who has to save the town from giant spiders following a toxic waste spill.

Variety has reported that Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, which stars Hercules' Kevin Sorbo, was the No. 1 new first-run weekly syndicated television series during the November sweeps. Andromeda reportedly averaged a 3.9 rating during the important period. While Sheena followed at No. 3 (1.9), Queen of Swords at No. 4 (1.6) and The Immortal came in at No. 6 (0.8)

Romulans may be appearing in the next Star Trek film according to the production news at the Official Star Trek website.

The "Searchable Star Trek Book Site" PSI Phi has a reported several books based on Star Trek: DS9 will soon be appearing or reappearing in bookstores next year. The books starting with "Avatar Book One" and "Two", written by S. D. Perry are set to launch in May of next year.

The books are set after the series finale "What You Leave Behind". The books tell the story of how after a devestating attack on the station, Colonel Kira Nerys, the survivors and several controversial new officers are all that stands against the outbreak of a new war and the "terrible doom" that's tied to Captain Benjamin Sisko's unborn child.

Following "Avatar One" and "Two" are "Section 31: The Abyss" by David Weddle and Jeffrey Lang (book four in a crossover series), "Gateways Book 4: Demons of Air" and "Darkness" by Keith R. A. DeCandido, and two by Star Trek: DS9's Martok actor J. G. Hertzler a two book series entitled "The Left Hand of Destiny".
