Sci-Fi at Bookface.com

Earlier this month I got a chance to talk to Bookface.com Executive Editor Lou Anders about what readers could expect to see soon at Bookface.com.

For those who don't know Bookface.com is a place where readers can go to read a fabulous selection of complete books and more for free. Possibly the biggest draw to the site, in my own humble opinion, is that you can sit down at your computer and read through a book at your leisure to see if you want to buy it or not.

That's not even mentioning the fact that new titles are added weekly, there's a great diversity of genres represented at Bookface.com, and according to Lou Anders more things are on the horizon in the coming months. "We believed early on that our forward-thinking ebook model would be especially attractive to science fiction fans," Anders said, when asked what made Bookface.com decide to showcase the works of noted Sci-Fi writers such as J.Michael Straczynski or JMS, creator of the hit Sci-FI TV series Babylon 5 and Fiona Avery.

"We think we're helping to pioneer the future of books, and thus, we would appeal to readers with one eye on the future. JMS is a writer like no other. Everything that he touches turns to gold, and with his excellent Internet fanbase, we were sure an Internet-JMS collaboration would be the success it has so far proven to be." Anders stated about JMS. "Fiona Avery is a new voice, just now starting out, but making very rapid progress (Crusade, and upcoming Earth: Final Conflict, radio plays on Scifi.com)."

For fans of J. Michael Straczynski, his new book entitled "Tribulations" is now available at Bookface.com. "Tribulations", JMS' first novel in 12 years, is a mystery novel with a little bit of the supernatural thrown into the mix. A must read story for fans of JMS. And fans can look forward to more JMS projects at Bookface.com.

According to Anders the reaction of Sci-Fi fans and readers in regards to Bookface.com itself and JMS' work has been great. "Joe's work has consistently ranked in the top ten lists on our site. St Martin's Press' The Years Best Science Fiction: 17th Annual Collection has as well. Science Fiction performs very well on our site, and we think that's a sign that we're on the right track."

Also according to Anders, Sci-Fi fans can look forward to more Anthologies like "The Years Best Science Fiction: 17th Annual Collection". "Right now, you can read 24 tales from "The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror: 13th Annual Collection", and we'll have more soon, I'm sure."
