This year's Saturn Awards were announced on June 7, 2000 in Century City, California . The Sci-Fi Awards, hosted by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, recognize the best in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror in both the film and television genres.
Stephen King's The Green Mile was the big winner in film, garnering three awards which included Best Action/Adventure/Thriller Film, Best Supporting Actor (Michael Clarke Duncan) and Best Supporting Actress (Patricia Clarkson). The Matrix won for Best Science Fiction Film, Being John Malkovich for Best Fantasy Film, and The Sixth Sense for Best Horror Film. Tim Allen won Best Actor for Galaxy Quest and Christina Ricci won Best Actress for Sleepy Hollow. Other winners included: Now and Again for Best Network Television Series Several Special Awards were presented including the Life Career Award to both Dick Van Dyke and George Barris, and the President's Award which went to Richard Donner.
