William B. Davis, Cigarette-Smoking Man from the X-Files

Best known for his role as the Cigarette-Smoking man or Cancer man from the X-Files, Canadian Actor William B. Davis has had an illustrious career. Born on January 13th 1938 in Toronto Ontario Canada, William B. Davis went to the University of Toronto and then to the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in London.

He now resides in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada, where the X-Files was filmed. He is the current director of the William Davis Centre for Actor's Study. Davis is the former Artistic Director for the Vancouver Playhouse Acting School and for the National Theatre School.

Among his many talents and credits is his extensive directing experience and his being a certified Downhill Ski Instructor. His television credits include recurring roles in the Canadian series North of 60, sliders, the Outer Limits, Street Justice, the short-lived series Nightmare Café, and MacGyver. He has also made guest appearances on 21 Jump Street, Wiseguy, Danger Bay Captain Power, Airwolf and others.

While his film credits are comprised of Beyond Obsession, Hitman, Omen IV: The Awakening, Matinee, Beyond the Stars, Look Who's Talking, Head Office, The Dead Zone and more. His theatrical roles include "Wilson" from Back to Beulah, "Harry" in On The Job, "Jeffery" from Two for the See Saw, "The Puppet Master" in The Puppet Master, "George" from Chapter Two and "Tony Orr" from Emma Orr.
