Born in 1960 in Manhattan, David Duchovny began his rise to stardom with his first acting job, a beer commercial. The commercial was followed by roles in movies such as "The Rapture" with Mimi Rogers and Darwyn Carson, "Chaplin" with Robert Downey Jr., "Beethoven" with Charles Grodin and "Workin Girl" with Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver. Along with the time he spent as the narrator of Showtime's "The Red Shoe Diaries"
Duchovny's first TV role was in David Lynch's short-lived television series Twin Peaks as the transvestite agent Dennis/Denise Bryson. Which was followed by more movie roles including "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" with Joanna Cassidy, Christina Applegate and Jayne Brook nd "Venice/Venice" with John Landis and Suzanne Bertish. Then in 1993 came Duchovny's role as Special Agent Mulder in "The X-Files". A role that has allowed Duchovny a chance to direct an episode of the "X-Files" entitled 'The Unnatural'. Duchovny has also appeared in various other television show including the Sci-Fi series "Space Above and Beyond" as an A.I. pool player, "The Simpsons" as Fox Mulder and "Duckman" as the voice of Richard. Along with the feature films "Playing God" and "The X-Files: Fight the Future". In May of 1997, Duchovny married actress Tea Leoni, they now have a daughter named Madelaine. In his spare time Duchovny plays basketball, baseball, swimming, practices yoga and visits an acupuncturist. He also enjoys reading and writing poetry and the works of actor/playwrite Sam Shepard and author Samuel Beckett.
