Profile of The Highlander's Adrian Paul

Adrian Paul portrays The Highlander, Duncan MacLeod. MacLeod is a 400-year-old Immortal who in order to survive must face both friend and foe alike in a his quest for survival, for there "Can be Only one".

Born and raised in London, England, Adrian Paul liked to study Shakespeare and acting while in school. His main focus growing up, however was sports, Soccer mainly. After his graduation, he travelled around Europe for eight years, trying his hand at various jobs including modelling, dancing and choreography. From there he moved on to the United States, first stopping in New York and then moving on to Los Angeles.

Paul's big acting break came in the form of the ABC Television series "The Colby's," in which he portrayed a Russian ballet dancer named Nickolai. Various other TV roles followed soon after including Jeremiah Collins in the 1991 remake of "Dark Shadows" and John Kincaid in the remake of "War of the Worlds." Paul also made guest appearances in the Angela Landsbury series "Murder, She Wrote," "Beauty and the Beast," and as well as in the made for TV movies "The Owl," "Shooter," "In the Nick of Time," and "The Cover Girl Murders."

His has also appeared in various feature films including "Last Rites" with Tom Berenger, "Mask of the Red Death," "Love Potion Number Nine" with Sandra Bullock and "Dead Men Can't Dance"' with Michael Biehn for Live Entertainment. It's been reported that Paul will begin work on the new Highlander movie, "Highlander 4" in the fall. In which he will be co-starring with Christopher Lambert (the star of the other three Highlander movies).

In addition to his acting, Paul has also directed four Highlander episodes. Two of those episodes are from the fourth season "Homeland"' and "Methuselah's Gift." The other two are from the fifth season "Revelation 6:8", which is the show's 100th episode and "Modern Prometheus." In order to stay in shape for his role as Duncan MacLeod, Paul studies various types of martial arts, which include Kung Fu, Karate and Tae Kwon Do.
