The stars of Cleopatra 2525, a new series from Studios USA, have been announced. The series will star Jennifer Sky (Amarice - XWP), Gina Torres (Nebula - HTLJ) and Victoria Pratt (Queen Cyane - XWP). Cleopatra 2525 will reportedly be moving into the timeslot of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. The series will be shot on location in New Zealand and is set to begin airing in January.

Special Xena News Flash:

The controversial Xena episode "The Way" will be back in syndication after being pulled from the air. The episode will return on Aug. 30, with some editing. The episode was pulled in April, by producers in response to a protest by over 100 Hindu organizations worldwide.

There is a new half-hour talk show being developed by the Sci-Fi Channel, it's called "Sci-Fi Confessions". The idea of the show is that guests of the show will reveal their secrets (example: paranormal experiences, UFO encounters or run-ins with other unexplained phenomena) to someone else for the first time. The show is still in the exploratory stages, and no decision has been reached on whether it will air or not.

The creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and script writer for Alien: Resurrection Joss Whedon has reportedly said in an upcoming interview for the British magazine SFX that, he won't work on the script for the next Alien film. He reportedly turned down the opportunity to write the fifth Alien movie because of the way Resurrection came out.

It's been reported that Canadian Cool Clear Wtaa and Starbase-1 Coffee (a company that makes, markets and distributes Star Trek themed gourmet food) will be joining forces to launch a new bottled water, which will be based on the third Star Trek movie, "The Search for Spock". In the movie, 'Bones' mentions 'Altair Water' which, supposedly, taken from the mountains of Altair VI.

The Canadian Cool Clear Wtaa company has said that it will "use state-of-the-art water purification systems" in order to create its own version of the 24th century 'Altair Water'. The label for the bottled water has been designed using a variety of Star Trek icons. The water will be made available in Canada and the US in various sizes which range from 12 ounces to 1.5 litres. A sad bit news for fans of Star Trek's William "Captain Kirk" Shatner. His third wife, 40 year old Nerine Shatner, was found dead in the swimming pool of their home in Studio City, Calif., on Monday, Aug. 9. Shatner reportedly arrived home at 10 p.m. PDT and found Nerine's body, after which he phoned 911. The 68-year-old Shatner dove into the pool (following the instructions of the 911 operator) and pulling his wife out of the water and beginning CPR. However, sadly he wasn't able to revive her, the Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and pronounced Nerine dead. Police are treating the death as an accident.
