Star Trek: The Next Generation's LeVar 'Lt. Cmder. Geordie LaForge' Burton is developing a new series for Paramount entitled "John Smith", which he will both star in and produce. 'John Smith' will center around a man trying to regain his memories after getting amnesia. The series is hoping for a midseason spot.

The Electronic publisher peanutpress.com has recently announced that Star Trek novels are becoming available for the 'Palm Pilot'. There are seven titles currently available and more will be added sometime in the future. For more information go to http:\\www.peanutpress.com

A new Star Trek stamp is set to be unvailed in Los Vegas in September of this year. The stamp will bear the image of the USS Enterprise.

Fantasicon '99 to be held July 30th to August 1st, will be dedicated to the memory of Star Trek's DeForest Kelley. Guests include Star Trek's Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, Rene Auberjonois, Tim Russ, Xena's Robert Trebor and others.

Beginning August 17th, Star Trek: The Original Series will be available on DVD. Seven selected scenes have been added to each episode along with a thumbnail snapshot and text description of the scene.

It's been reported by Cinescape that director Paul Anderson is currently working on a new 'Dr. Who' movie. The movies is reportedly being made in conjunction with the BBC.

The band called 'The Be Five', which is made up of Babylon 5 stars Bill Mumy, Claudia Christian, Mira Furlan, Peeter Jurasik and Andreas Katsulas, released an album entitled 'Trying to Forget' on July 13th. The album was released on the independent label Renaissance Records Inc.
