Star Trek: Voyager's Kate Mulgrew has reportedly signed for a seventh season. Kate Mulgrew revealed the news while talking to WOR-TV in New York (via the Mania Website).
The LA Times reported that the Fox Network has snared the TV rights to 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace for an undisclosed amount. Viewers may see the movie as soon as November of next year. According to Variety, Showtime plans to launch the Showtime Beyond Network. The Showime Beyond network is a digital multiplex network devoted to Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. Showtime Beyond will premiere in September. Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Catherine Bell (JAG) are set to play the lead roles in the TBS original movie 'The Timeshifters' or as it was previously known 'Thrill Seekers'. The TV movie is being directed by Mario Azzopardi and was written by Gay Walch and Kurt Inderbitzin. The movie is about a tabloid journalist named Tom Merrick (Casper Van Dien) who discovers that the same man appears in photographs taken of major historical disasters. Disasters that range from the sinking of the Titanic to the destruction of Hurricane Hugo. Merrick and fellow magazine researcher Elizabeth (Catherine Bell) learn that the guy is a tourist from the future, that knowledge leads to them putting their lives in jeopardy in order to try and stop an imminent disaster. 'Timeshifters' is slated to air in October. According to Variety, Kevin Sorbo is quitting Hercules: the Legendary Journeys to headline one of two TV projects that are based on ideas by the creator of Star Trek the late Gene Roddenberry. It's reported that Sorbo will have his pick between Roddenberry's Andromeda and Roddenberry's Starship both under development by Tribune Entertainment under the guidence of Roddenberry's widow Majel Barrett Roddenberry. Starship is reported to be Star Trek-like and focuses on the adventures of an exploratory Space vessel helmed by a dynamic captain. Andromeda is said to tell of a scientist on the planet of Korkyra who, after being accidentily sent forward in time 500 years, must find his way back to his own time. Meanwhile, Studios USA which produces Hercules is reported to be planning two new half- hour series. The two new shows are being developed by Hercules creators Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi and air in place of the hour-long Hercules. The two new series are Cleopatra 2525 and Jack of all Trades, they will be sold as a set called the "Back 2 Back Action" hour. Go To Page: 1 2
