Also in B5 news: Crusade begins on Space the Imagination Station on Saturday June 12, 1999. J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of Babylon 5, is set to recieve the Ray Bradbury Award for Dramatic Screenwriting. This award is given by the president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Founded in 1992 by SFWA president Ben Bova, this award has been awarded only once before. That recipent was writer/director James Cameron for Terminator 2. Straczynski will recieve the Bradbury during the Nebula Award on May 1 in Pittsburgh. B5's episode "Sleeping in Light" has been nominated for a Hugo Award for Dramatic Presentation. Other Dramatic Presentation nominees are Dark City, Star Trek: Insurrection, The Truman Show, and Pleasantville. In Star Trek News: The final episode of DS9 will tie up the loose ends and bring closure to all the main cast of characters and the epsiodes' guest stars. The episode called "What You Leave Behind" was written by series executive producer Ira Steven Behr and Hans Biemler, and was directed by Allan Kroeker. Fans of the show can expect one of the biggest special effects sequences, in the shows history. William Shatner will appear on the May 25th one hour season finale of 3rd Rock from the Sun. He will be playing the Big Giant Head, the supreme alien commander. In other Sci-Fi TV News: Bohnot Kids Network has ordered 40 half hour episodes of the computer animated kids series Starship Troopers: Bug Wars. Bug Wars is a series that follows the adventures of four of the characters of Starship Troopers. That's it for now. Live Long and Prosper.
