For a change of pace in between book reviews I thought it would be a good idea to update everyone on the latest happenings in the Sci-Fi TV universe.
According to the Sci-Fi Wire, Joss Whedon, the creator of both "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and it's spin-off "Angel", gave them hints at the new season. According to the report, Whedon told Sci-Fi Wire that the characters would have 'new' reason to mistrust each other, thus continuing with what was established in last season's final episode. Whedon also informed Sci-Fi Wire that the lead character, 'Angel' (played by David Boreanaz) has lot to get used to as a 'big corporate head'. "Angel" returns to TV on Oct. 1st, check local listings for times. Also in "Angel" news, Charisma Carpenter, won't be returning as a regular cast member. According to an interview with the Boston Herald, Carpenter reportedly was just as "shocked as anyone" about the departure. But, also reportedly stated that she would be willing to return to the series in order to bring closure to her character's story arc. However, as of the interview there were no plans to bring back the actress who originated the role of Cordelia Chase nearly eight years previous on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Sci-Fi Declassified News According to a report I read on the Sci-Fi Wire, the news arm of the Sci-Fi Channel, the Sci-Fi Channel TV network has inked a three book deal with Pocket Books to produce three "Roswell," the event not the series, books. The books would be from the "Sci-Fi Declassified" original documentary specials. The first title in the three book series will be "Sci-Fi Declassified: The Roswell Dig Diaries" which will be based on the highly rated original special "The Roswell Crash: Startling New Evidence." The book will be released in paperback in november. Look for the book to be promoted during the broadcasting of the Sci-Fi Channel's new "Roswell" "Declassified" special entitled "The New Roswell: Kecksburg Exposed." The documentary will be aired in October. Dead Zone News USA Network has announced that it will be renewing "The Dead Zone" for a third season. According to the Sci-Fi Wire, the series will be adding a new executive producer, Karl Schaefer (best know for his work on "Strange Luck") . Star Trek News According to the Associated Press, a federal appeals court has rejected a lawsuit filed by former "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" star Chase Masterson (who portrayed Leeta) against an online dating service, Matchmaker.com. The court ruled that the company was not at fault for a 'fake Internet profile' that had been posted on the company's website with Masterson's photo. Go To Page: 1 2 |
