Well, I'll say this for the book..."It's better than the series." "Dark Angel: The Eyes Only Dossier" is an intriguing look at a series which I never clearly understood. To understand my reasoning feel free to take a look back at my "Dark Angel" review.
The character of Logan Cale began his career as an investigative journalist in an effort to reveal the truth about the shady government and it's crooked dealings, but soon he began to realise that he was making more enemies than he could possibly handle. He then chose to go underground, and founded what is now a major underground news service that proportedly strives to tell the truth to the people about what kind of government they have in 2021, a news service entitled "Eyes Only." What truths you ask? The fact that government is corrupt, bloodthirsty and secretive. Anyway, the book chronicles Logan's years of research, complete with an army of trusted informants. Okay...well that seems straight forward enough, right....? Not... For starters, this book really isn't a book in the traditional sense...it's more like an under cover operative's collection of 'For You Eyes Only' reports, studies, photos and interview transcripts. I mean it really is a "dossier" of a sort. That maybe one of it's redeeming features in my eyes. It includes many photos from the show and helps the reader understand more of what the series was about and also to enlighten some aspects of the series. Which to me is a major selling point of any television follow-up/guide book. Here's a list of what the book has with in it's interesting pages: - Details on the mysterious disappearance of Margaret Curran, the Mayoral candidate who disappeared on route to a meeting with her staff - Info on the mysterious Max aka 452 - Info on the massacre of Grand Coulee - The secrets behind the Phoenix Project - Info about the Davenport Genetics Institute - Info about the secretive Conclave's Breeding Program And that's just for starters. Fans of the series will absolutly love this book. Non-fans and curious Sci-Fi Tv book collectors will be intrigued by the unique styling of the book. Enjoy! Until Next Time!!! Go To Page: 1 |
