Frontier Earth: Searcher - A Review

In this the third Sci-Fi Book Review article in my six article series, I'll give you a brief glimpse at the second book in the "Frontier Earth" series by Bruce Boxleitner.

"Frontier Earth: Searcher" is a tale set in 1882, however it's as sci-fi as you get. If I had to find just a few simple words to describe the story, they most-likely would be "thrilling, enjoyable, fast-paced, witty and original."

Although I may be slightly biased as the author is one of my favourite actors and was a star on one of my favourite sci-fi series. "Frontier Earth: Searcher" was written by actor Bruce Boxleitner, star of the hit sci-fi series "Babylon 5" and star of the classic series "Scarecrow and Mrs. King."

However, while I admit that I was pretty much guaranteed to lean towards enjoying the novel because of who the author was, that isn't always the case. Some novels I've read by actors turned writers leave me wondering where they came up with the stories or if they really did write the book.

But, this novel is very good. I throughly enjoyed reading the book. "Frontier Earth: Searcher" is Boxleitner's second novel and it continues the story begun in his debut novel "Frontier Earth." It tells the story of Macklin, a gunfighter who makes his home in Tombstone, Arizona.

As Macklin regains his lost memory he finds out that he isn't quite as human as he thought. Yep you guessed it. He finds out he is an alien sent to protect the Earth from an invasion by another race of aliens.

However even though he's regaining his memory, he still has many questions about himself and his enemies. As he searches for answers he unknowingly enters a conflict between silver miners and Apache Warriors.

Caught in the midst of a war between the white miners and the Indians, Macklin must keep his head and remember that there is something monstrously deadly after him, hunting him.

Can Macklin survive one more time? Will he find more of his people? Find out in this exciting novel by a great actor/writer Bruce Boxleitner.

This both the first and second novels by Boxleitner are fast-paced, action packed and thrilling tales of Sci-Fi adventure. They give an old idea a whole new meaning. They truly are the best in a Sci-Fi Western adventure series.

One thing I know for sure, no matter what your taste in reading material is, you're sure to enjoy "Frontier Earth: Searcher" and it's predecessor "Frontier Earth." Even if you are a die-hard Western fan you will enjoy the combination of old style Western and Science Fiction Fantasy of this novel series.
