It is After all A Fifthwheel!!!If someone had told me that I would find and buy both a fifthwheel to live in and a vehicle to pull it with during the last month, I would have told them that there is no way in Hell that could ever happen. First my wife and I don't want a fifthwheel we want a diesel pusher and second we already bought the car that we are going to pull behind it. Well never, say never. So we are now the proud owners of a 1997 Ford, F3 XLT, crew cab, dually. With just 68,000 miles and most all the options, that anyone could ask for. Including dark tinted windows, the little awnings that go over the window so you can open it a bit and the rain will not come in, and a grill guard in the front that has both fog and road lamps as part of it. The only thing that is the least little bit of a downer (for my wife) is the fact that that it is a 5-speed Manual transmission. I guess you've got to have one thing that you don't like, I'm still looking. Fifthwheel Makenzie is made by Monaco, (I believe that Makinzie is listed as the brand but this one is the model and Monaco is the brand), but I could be wrong. Now get this; I have never pulled any trailer longer than 12 feet mind you no fifthwheel of some 35 feet. Oh Yeah! Did I mention that the one thing that the truck does not have is a fifth-wheel hitch? The acceptance show and tell fifthwheel is on Saturday. If all goes well they are to deliver it to my RV site 65 miles from the dealership. That is what I wrote prior to the show and tell. I had a premonition that all would not go well by using the statement "if all goes well." As you can guess by now all did not go well and as of Monday after the show and tell, it now looks as though we will not take delivery until next Saturday. But that will be the tale for the next story. I do not want to tell it here as I am still upset and I feel that it will only be negative towards the dealer and not be able to write in such a fashion that someone might be able to gain a little insight and maybe avoid my situation.
