Ring------Ring-----"Hello!" "Uh...Hi, uh, do you still have the motorhome for sale?" "Yes, do you wanna see it?" "Uh...yes, when would be convenient for you?" "Oh, I will be here most of the day any time will be ok. Just call me from the corner store at X & Y streets and I will give instructions from there." "Uh... ok thanks I will call you from the store." Ring---Ring---Ring---Ring ------You know the rest of this story.

Ring----Ring-----"Hello! We are closed now just leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible."

"Oh, darn! I am sorry the RV (motorhome, trailer, class a, etc) you were interested in was jut sold 20 minutes ago but I have one just as nice as that one." "Uh, ok let me see that one."

"Ain't she a beautiful thing I converted (modified, reworked, built, painted, etc) this myself, I saved thousands by doing that and I can pass these savings on to you."

" I always thought that this was called a popup, if it ain't a popup then what do you call it?"

"My husband (brother, sister, wife, or anybody insert proper person, place or thing) is the one you need to speak to and they will not be home until"... The 12th of never, if you know what I am saying.

Ever heard these lines, or been told any of these story's, well welcome to the club so have I and probably every one else that has tried to buy a motor home or possibly any other purchase we have tried to make. Been there done that to many times...So I gave some thought about these conservation's and concluded that maybe I have a perception problem that needed to be addressed. Here are some guidelines that from now on I'm going to follow in my future dealings.

1. Call and talk directly to the seller before you decide to go look at the RV.

2. Try to control the conversation from the start have several specific, pointed questions to ask that will avoid vague or misleading answers.

3. Listen to the answers, take notes for later reference and if at all possible have someone else listen to your conversations and if something is said that is unclear ask for details then don't wonder what he meant later.

4. Make an appointment with the seller at a time that will allow you and the seller plenty of time to talk and look at the unit, get specific directions, and have a definite time to meet.
