There is an old joke about a person (just to be politically correct) who stops at a farmer's house early one morning and inquires about work. "Yes I've got some work you can do but it's hard work, you can cut down the trees over there and split them and stack the wood by that shed. " said the farmer. The person accepted the job and the farmer left him to the task.
This time returning late in the afternoon the farmer noted that the pile of potatoes was still there and the person was pacing to and fro, wringing his hands and mumbling to himself. "What's the problem? Why haven't you sorted the potatoes?" The farmer asked. The person looked at the farmer and said "Decisions, decisions, decisions just to many decisions." After the relative ease of choosing to go Rving full time and choosing motorhome over 5th wheel or trailer -- biggest reason -- the only purchase we need to make is the motor home as we already have a towable vehicle. It now gets to gas or diesel, wide body, slide out or no, and how long does it needs to be. Here after weeks of pacing to and fro, wringing our hands and mumbling a lot, we have made the following decisions and our reasons behind them: SLIDEOUTS A. This will not be a major deciding factor, if the motorhome has one OK and if the motorhome does not OK. B. We feel we want to be in the 36 to 38 ft range the extra "living" room that a slide gives seems much less important than at say 26 to 28 ft. C. There are a lot of horror stories around about slides leaking or getting stuck open or jammed closed that for us it just might be something we don't really need. LENGTH Picture this list in anything shorter than 36ft. A. In the living room a couch and two lounge chairs. B. Dining area a table and chairs as opposed to a dinette. C. A double door refrigerator. D. A pantry, you know the one that works like a pocket door. Go To Page: 1 2
