We wouldn't have to spend the night, broken down, here on the roadside would we? It was beginning to look like that might be a real possibility when suddenly my wife exclaimed "Barry! There's a camper parked in front us." Just at that time a voice at the door said "hey? Are you folks OK? "We just passed by, saw you stopped here and came back to see if you were OK? " Wow these were the best words that I had heard all day. Exchanging stories we found that Bob and Joann had also been out for a test drive in their truck with a slide camper, as practice for a planned trip to Alaska next spring.
I made contact with the road service and was told that a tow truck would be there in approximately 45 minutes. Another call to my son... still not home, we returned to our wives so deep in conversation that they hardly missed us. Time now seemed to drag as we waited 10...20...30 minutes how long would it be 40...41...42 ...whoa...there he is I'll be damned he's early and what a sight for sore eyes.
