Well I moved the palm frond, and then I noticed they had also discovered a path up the water hose and the power cord. I put about a two-inch ring of petroleum jelly around the water and electric routs and joined my wife in the battle of the ants. It took a while, but after we were satisfied that the “ant” war was over we sat down with a fresh cup of coffee. Reflecting on the moments just past we wondered how funny our antics must have seemed to anyone passing by, we added a “small amount of ant bait” and the “FRS“ radios to our pre travel checklist.
