Thoughts From The Pumpkin Lot

I can't believe that running a pumpkin lot would take so much time. We are at the lot 24/7 but I never realized that there would be something to do most of those hours. The pay is good for such a short period of time but the after hours work makes the per hour pay rate lower than we anticipated.

Is there a limit to the number of employers that you can have? The reason that I ask is we just signed on to be Ambassadors for a company that manufactures holding tank products. I said ambassadors, not sales; we are paid to represent the company, pass out coupons and free samples. I believe that this makes a total of six that we are presently working for. I figure that any way that you can make a little money while we are on the road is good. Now that I think of it if we have so many jobs why are we always broke? <;)

I just applied for social security benefits...on the Internet...how cool is that...Wait how did I get so old so quick... OK, so from now on it's eat the dessert first just in case.

California thinks they are so far ahead of the rest of the states. Two points come to mind. They only have one real interstate running North-South. The other is they have no Super Wal-Marts How can they be ahead??? They do have Arnold and Enron though!!

We signed on to be wildfire camp support here in California and there have been way less fires than in years past. On the other hand we left Florida and look what happened.

Where do those little tops to the spray cans go?? I went looking for the spray lube and the top is gone - how? Where?

How is it that my favorite college team is always in a rebuilding year?

We are running a Pumpkin lot for the month of October. I might be wrong but don't you think the prime attraction at a pumpkin lot would be the pumpkins-NO! At this lot it is the blowup rides which we have four of and a petting zoo. The rides and zoo take in way more money than the pumpkins. By the way if there is a pumpkin lot in your future e-mail me for details that you should know.

Had an interesting technology problem recently. We have two of those portable toilets on the pumpkin lot. Somehow we got missed for service during the first week. It was rather a problem therefore I called their national 800 number. With today's technology my call was routed to the local office "nearest to my location". So far so good - NOT. The phone I was calling from was a cell phone with a Florida number, therefore I was routed to the Orlando, Florida. Now here is where technology went down the tubes. After explaining what I needed I was informed of where I was calling and that I needed to call my local office. OK, no local number on any of the paperwork...no phone books...please give me the number for Palo Alto. They don't know the cities in California, neither do I.More than 30 minutes to get to a local California office. Technology Ya!! Right !! By the way they looked the number up in a book I could hear them turning the pages...
