They Speak A Different Language?

Here are some points to ponder.....

Centralized modem hookup.

One of the questions that we asked of the campgrounds we parked in was do you have a centralized modem hookup for the campers to use? Here is some of what we found: One park directed us to the payphone out front. I guess that would work for those email things but not really a modem hookup. Another thing we found was a great number of locations where we stopped only had a local provider number or limited national provider (AOL, Earthlink, ect) local access. Here is what we need to do. The next time you find a stack of those free Internet access disks grab one of each providers that you can get. That way perhaps you will have one that actually has a local number in the area where you are staying and the access will be free.

Pull through site.

One state park in Georgia told us that they had no pull through sites. I am still a bit timid about backing my rig but we really wanted to stay at this park so we proceeded on. Happily we found that all of the sites in the park were pull through. I didn't ask their definition of pull through, although now I wish I had. At another park they told us all sites were pull through. They were right we had no problem pulling into the site it was a straight shot as they said. While admiring my parking ability I noted that perhaps we would have to take up permanent residence there as pulling out was going to be quite the challenge. It was much harder than backing into most sites that I have seen.

I guess you have to ask why to everything.

We pulled into one park and were asked, quite casually, if we had a satellite dish. We said that we did and we were directed to a very nice site only to find that this part of the park did not have cable. When we are only spending one night we rarely put up the dish.

Overheard in a restaurant.

We had just been seated and given "dinner" menus and were looking over the selections when a party was shown to the table behind us. The waitress said to the party " Hi! My name is _____. Welcome to ______. We are still serving lunch but if you would care to wait anther 6 minutes I can give you the dinner menus.
