Count Leo TolstoyDuring the 1879 a change occurred on his outlook of life and theology. Tolstoy was raised a devout Russian Orthodox Christian. While he was undergoing his change in theology and outlook he started attacking the artificiality and rituals of the Russian Orthodox Church. Before his death Tolstoy was excommunicated from the church.
