The Mystery Alive

In the coming series of articles, I will portray them as they were when they lived. I will not touch on the murder again, nor on the controversy over Anna Anderson and the other Romanov claimants. Whoever they were, they have kept the memory of this beautiful family alive. Whoever they were, they were close enough spiritually to this family to mourn for them as though they were indeed their own. I would not want to speak out against any of them lest I would be speaking out against a child of the Tsar. I cannot speak for them lest the child of the Tsar be somewhere else.

Daughters of the Tsar: Marie, Tatiana, Anastasia, Olga

My duty as a writer is to bring to my readers a piece of this family’s kindness, glamour, love, and almost ethereal beauty. Remember -- once you read, you will forever have with you a piece of them. I leaf now through a photographic album of Tsar Nicholas’s family, and I’m honored just to have known they exist. Even if it takes the horrors of their murder to bring them to us, I find that it is definitely worth it.
