Romani culture is diverse and there is no universal culture per se, but there are common attributes to all Roma. these include; loyalty to family & clan; a strong belief in predestiny;belief in ,i>Del (God) and Beng (Devil); Romaniya, standards & norms, varying in degrees from tribe to tribe as well as adaptability to often changing conditions & social environment. Integration of many Roma into ikanénon-Roma culture due to settlement has severely diluted many Romani cultural values & beliefs. Not all Roma tribes have the same definition of who & what is "Roma." What may be accepted as "true-Roma" by one tribal group may be gadjé to another tribal group. Romani culture is very diverse, with many customs & traditions. All tribes around the world have their own individual beliefs and tenets.

There have been many large-scale, state-sponsored persecutions, or pogroms, against the Roma throughout European history. The Nazi terror of World War II is the most infamous and is responsible for the deaths of up to 1.5 million Roma in the Holocaust (Porrajmos). The recent collapse of the communist governments of Eastern Europe have rekindled & re-newed anti-Roma sentiment in Eastern & Western Europe. Violent attacks against Romani immigrants & refugees have been permitted to occur with little or no restraint by government authorities. Romani people remain the least integrated & the most persecuted people of Europe. Everywhere in Europe their fundamental civil rights are threatened. Racist violence targeting Roma is on the rise after the fall of Communismm usually led by "Neo-Nazi Skinheads". Discrimination against Roma in employment, education, health care, administrative & other social services is an observable fact in most societies. Hate speeches against them deepens the negative anti-Roma stereotypes which are typical of almost all European public opinion

During WWII a huge percentage, more than half a million, Roma of Europe were murdered in Nazi concentration Camps. The Romani Holocaust or Devouring Romanes in the Romany language. The Roma were the only other peoples besides the Jews targeted for annihilation based on their race. Unlike the Jews, who have found a Homeland in Israel, the Roma have found nowhere to find refuge after WWII. Roma fought with the Jewish resistance: Simon Avidan, a celebrated Israeli resistance fighter, related his experience fighting with Roma behind enemy lines. Especially in Eastern Europe Roma are still living in countries where they are targets of grave neo -Nazi hate crimes and xenophobic
